  • A 14 year veteran in the video games information space, Marci Yamaguchi Hughes serves as executive vice president and general manager of GamePro Media, publisher of GamePro Magazine and Gamepro.com. She is responsible for overseeing the overall stewardship of the GamePro brands and all aspects of the online and print businesses.

    Prior to joining GamePro Media, Yamaguchi Hughes was senior vice president of sales and marketing for the game group at Ziff Davis Media, which included 1UP.com, FileFront.com, and EGM Magazine (Electronic Gaming Monthly). Yamaguchi Hughes played an integral role in the launch of 1UP.com in 2003. Under her leadership, she spearheaded the first-ever successful integration of print and online sales teams in the marketplace in 2005, leading to a 200 percent year-over-year growth in online revenue.

    Yamaguchi Hughes began her career at Ziff Davis in 1989 at MacUser and PC Week. She currently serves on the Board of Governors of MI6, the Association of Electronic Interactive Marketers, and organizer of the MI6 conference. A California native, she resides in the Bay Area with her husband and son.

  • John brings nearly two decades of experience in the interactive entertainment media industry to his role as executive vice president of content at GamePro Media. With expertise in every major sector of video game media, he has contributed to a variety of well-respected print and online consumer and trade publications in the US and Europe, and was a co-host of the popular video games podcasts; 1UP Yours, and Listen Up.

    Formerly the co-founder and president of What They Like, Inc, John managed the daily operation of the company and directed all content generation for its award-winning media property - What They Play: The family guide to video games.

    Prior to What They Like, John was senior vice president, editorial director of Ziff Davis Game Group. In that role he shaped and directed all 1UP Network editorial products, including 1UP.com; MyCheats.com; GameVideos.com; the 1UP Show video podcast; Electronic Gaming Monthly; Games for Windows: The Official Magazine; Computer Gaming World; XBN: Xbox Nation, GMR, and a variety of special issues. John also served as editor-in-chief of Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine, successfully guiding the monthly publication through a series of significant transitions, and led EGM through similar evolutionary milestones in the late 1990s.

    Before moving to the United States from his native England and joining Ziff Davis, John was the publisher of Dennis Publishing's market-leading UK PC gaming magazine PC Zone.

  • Brent Martyn has been involved in media sales since 1999 with a specific focus on the video game market since 2004, first at the 1UP Network and most recently with the GamePro Media Network. As a media sales professional Brent has a strong grasp on how to successfully build brands and launch new product within a highly competitive landscape. As a gamer himself, Brent brings a unique perspective on the lifestyle and media habits of core gamers. When not at work, Brent is enjoying life with his wonderful wife and son in San Francisco.

  • Norris Boothe has been working in internet media since his MBA in 2003 from UCLA, and is currently employed at GamePro Media in the position of Vice President of Product Development. In his role as VP of Product Development, Norris manages the development team and consumer marketing initiatives, and collaborates with the executive team to define and plan products.

    Prior to his work with GamePro Media, Norris was Vice President of Product Marketing and CTO for the 1UP Network, part of Ziff Davis Media, where he helped launch MyCheats.com, and oversaw the rearchitecture of 1UP's technology platform. Before his time with Ziff Davis, Norris was a senior business analyst at Edmunds.com. Norris started work with Edmunds.com straight out of business school and worked for many years as a software engineer and business consultant prior to business school.

    Norris is a San Francisco Bay Area native who enjoyed school on the East Coast at Haverford College and some time in Washington DC before returning to his home town and its temperate winters. Outside of dreaming up the best ways to engage gaming media with the consumer, Norris likes to travel, exercise, and enjoy fine wines.

  • Kate serves as an expert resource and advisor for GamePro Media's business operations, managers and employees. She is responsible for the company's payroll and benefits administration, staffing and recruitment, employee relations, legal compliance and HR policies and procedures. Kate also works with other IDG businesses, including PC World Communications and Mac Publishing. Prior to joining IDG, Kate was the Director of Human Resources and Office Administration for Chronicle Books from 1992 to 1998. She held the position of Personnel Manager for PLM International from 1987 to 1991 and taught special education. Kate holds a BA in History from the University of Virginia.
